In Hustonville, Texas, a group of farmers, are among other
major shareholders of the local bank, which closing mortgages, harassing
farmers and are being subjected to every kind of humiliation. The Judge of the
County sends a District Attorney to investigate. At the same time a famous
killer, Morgan Pitt, nicknamed the ‘Mule’, arrives in town. Article in the
Hustonville newspaper, state that the District Attorney Harrison is famous for
his rigorous investigations. This puts the banking group in a state of concern
as they were behind the lynching of Ryan, a settler, fearing that they too will
be discovered, hire Pitt to kill the attorney which will halt the
investigation. But Harrison and ‘Mule’, whose true identity is that of a
federal marshal, manage, after various problems, to expose and subdue the
sinister gang.
Other than his lead role as the good guy in "Born To Kill", the Spaghetti Western "Cry Of Death" is the only film I know of where Gordon Mitchell played the good guy. Every other film he appears in he's the bad guy. Small world.
