Pilar Cañada was born in Cedillo de la Torre, Segovia,
Castilla y León, Spain on October 2, 1935 and is a Spanish TV presenter .
She moved while very young to Madrid with her family, and
in 1961 she joined Televisión Española. During her career, throughout the 1960s
and 1970s, she became the emblematic face of television announcers, whose
function was to tell the viewers the scheduled programming on their screen in
the following hours.
In addition she also was a presenter on ‘Tele-club’ show
(1964-1967), along with Antolín García, ‘TVE News’ (1967-1968), with José Luis
Uribarri, ‘Weekend’ (1969) or ‘Always on Sunday’ (1972) with Juan Antonio
Fernández Down.
In cinema, she participated in the film “El Padre Coplillas”
(1968), with Juanito Valderrama and Dolores Abril and her only Euro-western “A
Fistful of Songs” (1966)
