This castle
was built in the eighteenth century in Los Escullos to defend the coast of
Almeria from the attacks of the Barbary pirates who came from North Africa and
used as a set to represent the Yuma Territorial Prison in the initial sequence
of the film “Death Rides a Horse” (1967).
