Italian actor, director Franco Citti died in Rome today
January 14th at the age of 80. Born in Rome on April 23, 1935 he was the son of
actor Santino Citti and brother of director, screenwriter, actor Sergio Citti.
Best known for his lead role as Vittorio "Accattone" Cataldi in Piero
Pasolini’s 1961 film Accattone, Citti also appeared in The Godfather: Parts I and III in the role of Calo. Franco appeared in two Euro-westerns: Kill and Pray
(1967) as Burt and as Hoagy in Kill Them All and Come Back Alone (1968).
