The French company Atlantique Productions and Italy's
Cattleya responsible for Gomorrah, today announced an agreement to co-produce a
television series based on Sergio Corbucci’s western Django.
For Django, there is talk of a reimagining of the
original story starring Franco Nero, in which our hero goes looking for revenge
for the murder of his wife.
The series, in English, will last in principle, for 12
episodes each lasting 50 minutes, with the intention of the producers is to
have multiple seasons.
Directors, showrunners, and casts have yet to be
announced. Now in development stage, it will be shopped to broadcasters at the
upcoming Mip TV mart in Cannes. Atlantique Productions’ Olivier Bibas and
creative director Patrick Nebout will act as executive producers, alongside
Cattleya partners Riccardo Tozzi, Giovanni Stabilini and Marco Chimenz.
