Paolo Casella was born on January 19, 1938 in Bari,
Puglia, Italy. His first film appearance was in “Il carabiniere a cavallo”
(1961) directed by Carlo Lizzani. Sometimes appearing under the alias Paul
Sullivan he would go on to appear in 14 films and TV appearances. Among these
were three Euro-westerns: “The Beast” (1970) and “Shoot the Living and Pray for
the Dead” and “The Return of Shangahi
Joe” (both 1971). His last film appearance was in 1981’s “Musica per vecchi
animali”. Casella died of cancer on August 27, 2005 in Rome, Lazio, Italy.
Today we remember Paolo Casella on what would have been his 75th
birthday.
