Andrei Codarcea was born in Miercurea Ciuc, Romania
on August 5, 1925. He graduated from the Institute
of Theater and Cinematographic Art in Bucharest in 1950. He was
married to fine arts graduate Ileana Codarcea [1929-2004] and was employed as a
stage actor at the Little Theater in Bucharest.
During his acting career Andrei also appeared in 23 films from “In Our Village”
in 1951 to his last film in 1986 “Batalia
din umbra”.
Codarcea appeared in two Euro-westerns; the Jack London
based television film ‘Burning Daylight’ in 1975 as Harris Topping and in “The Prophet, the Gold and the Transylvanians”
1978 in the role of Ambler.
He and his wife
emigrated to America in 1990
where the settled in Middletown,
Connecticut. There he died in
2003 at the age of 78.
