Spaghetti Western Location ~ Fuerte El Condor

The great Mexican fort was built as a project by Julio Molina for the film "El Condor" (1970), about three hundred meters west of Rancho Leone, it was then used in "Blindman" (1971); "Massacre at Fort Hollman" (1972) "The Man Called Noon" (1973); "The Stranger and the Gunfighter" (1974); "Comin 'At Ya!" (1981); "Scalps" (1986). This impressive and elaborate structure was maintained in good condition until 1986; then it was left in a state of abandonment, even if though it was occasionally used for the cinema, as in the last part of “Dollar for the Dead” (1998). Substantial parts survive, including several buildings, towers, stairways. This set was also used in films of other genres, and plays a central role, as a village of an imaginary South American country, in the film "Honolulu Baby" (2001), directed and performed by Maurizio Nichetti.
