RIP Jean Claude Deret

French comedian, lyricist and interpreter of insolent and tender songs, the father of Zabou Breitman has died on December 13th at the age of 95 years in Paris, France. Born in Paris on July 11, 1921 and after World War II Deret wrote his first songs and poems, composed the music and interpreted them in the cabarets of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, notably at the Rose Rouge.  He was a singer-songwriter, and also an actor. Jean-Claude wrote the screenplay for My Friend Winnetou and appeared in the TV serie as Napoleon Charbonneau. He would later come up with the story idea for 1998’s Winnetou’s Return starring Pierre Brice.
