Italian director, screenwriter Aldo Florio died today in
Rome. He would have been 91 on January 3rd. Florio started in the
film industry as an assistant director with 1955’s “I quattro del getto tonante” directed by
Fernando Cerchio. Born in Sora, Lazio, Italy on January 3, 1925 he would go on
to direct two of the Eruo-westerns small gems “5 Giants from Texas” (1966) with
Guy Madison and “Dead Men Ride” which he also wrote the screenplay with Fabio
Testi. He also wrote the screenplay for the futuristic Euro-western “2020 Texas
Gladiators” (1982)
