RIP Gil Parrondo

Spanish art director, set decorator and production designer Gil Parrondo died in Madrid, Spain on December 24^th. He was 95. Parrondo won two Academy Awards for “Patton” and “Nicholas and Alexandra and was nominated for another in the category Best Art Direction. He was involved in five Euro-westerns: “Savage Pampas” (1966) [set decorator], “The Valley of Gwangi” (1969) [art director], “Four Rode Out” (1970) [art director], “Rustlers’ Rhapsody” (1985) [production designer] and “The Return of El Coyote” (1998) [production designer].
