Returning from Europe, where he learned eighteenth-century attitudes, Paco, returns to his native New Aragon where the General Ruarte has usurped the government from the hands of Don Diego, uncle of the young dandy. There he is betrothed to his cousin Zaira. Don Diego, does not know how to stop the bullying of Ruarte. In turn Paco is eager to marry the young heiress but this will eliminate, in so doing, the dreams of a revolt which is spearheaded by Friar Don Miguel. Coincidentally, the two servants of Paco realize that during his sleep he relives the adventures of Zorro. They give him some sleeping pills at the appropriate time, which puts him in the Zorro mode and ends up eliminating Ruarte, Sergeant Garcia and their minions.
