Michele Cortes De Leon y Fabianera was born on May 10,
1933 in Algiers, Alger, France. After a solid education in Algiers and Paris.
As Françoise Fabian she started out on the 1950s stage at the Paris
Conservatoire. She entered films in 1954 but didn't achieve notice until a
decade later playing mature, worldly sophisticates. Her career blossomed into
its own in the early 1970s, where she worked with many important directors.
She’s appeared in over 100 films and television appearances. Among her many
films was one Euro-western “Drop Them or I’ll Shoot” (1968) with Rock star
Johnny Hallyday.
Fabian was married to director, screenwriter Jacques Becker [1906-1960] from 1957-1960 and then married director, screenwriter and actor Marcel Bozzuffi [1928-1988] from 1963-1988.
Still active today she appeared on the 2013 TV series ‘Les petits meurtres d'Agatha Christie’ and in the 2013 film “Les garçons et Guillaume, à table”
Today we celebrate Françoise Fabian’s 80th birthday.
