Today
marks the 50th anniversary of the premier of “Killer Caliber .38”.
Directed by Al Bradley (Alfonso Brescia) and starring Peter Lee Lawrence, Agnes
Spaak and Hélène Chanel disguised as Sherill Morgan. The story is about a gang
of seven masked men who repeatedly rob a stagecoach carrying valuables to the
bank in Carson City. The last robbery ends with the massacre of the passengers,
because one of them has identified the leader of the bandits. The bank
executives decide to entrust the task of eliminating the continuing threat to
Silver Peter Lee Lawrence, a hired gun, who is very clever and intelligent. In
order to fulfill his mission, he adopts a very simple yet dangerous system. He
spreads a rumor that he knows the identity of some of the bandits. Silver then,
shortly thereafter, undergoes an attack, which allows him to deal justice to
the killers. His task, however, is made difficult by the intervention Sheriff Bear
(Mirko Ellis) that is clearly hostile towards him and is also entangled with
two women Beth/Betty (Agnès Spaak) and Doll/Dolly (Hélène Chanel) the daughter
of a murdered bank clerk and the owner of the local saloon.
