Happy 75th Birthday Perla Cristal
Perla Cristal Lijtik was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina
on September 29, 1937. A star in her home country of Argentina, Pearl Crystal
has managed to reach and maintain a leading and prominent place in the world of
entertainment. An interpreter of remarkable intensity and magnetism a solo
singer and actress, she became a regular presence and star in films and
television exploiting her racial and curvaceous body, participating in both the
most bizarre genre cinema at the hand of director Jesus Franco (“The Awful Dr.
Orloff” (1962) “The Mistresses of Dr. Jekyll” (1964) etc.) and Spaghetti
westerns, and in the commercial cinema (“Búsqueme a esa chica” (1964), “Hoy
como ayer” (1966), “Crónica de nueve meses” (1967), “Juicio de faldas”, “Por
qué pecamos a los cuarenta” (both 1969)), and even appeared in some of the most
remarkable new Spanish cinema (“Culpable para un delito” (1966) “Oscuros sueños
de agosto” (1967), “Hay que matar a B,” (1975)) Although her star fell after
the mid-seventies, she is still working occasionally for the small screen, and
became a regular face in the glorious days of the Studio 1 and other similar
dramas. Perla appeared in 7 Euro-westerns from “Ballad of a Bounty Hunter” 1965
to “Dust in the Sun” (1973). Today we celebrate Perla Cristal’s 75th
birthday.
