“Unearthing Sad Hill” at Cannes

Lee Van Cleef stars in the new poster of 'Unearthing Sad Hill'

What happens when some fans settle on the stage of their favorite movie to restore it? Pass 'Unearthing Sad Hill'.

In October 2015, a small group of fans of the film 'El bueno, el feo y el malo', by Sergio Leone, come to the location of the final scene of the film in Burgos. Nearly 50 years after filming, they intend to unearth and restore the mythical cemetery of Sad Hill. The news runs like wildfire and each weekend increases the number of volunteer fans who dare to rebuild the stage.

The documentary by Guillermo de Oliveira explores the motivations of the people who carry out this effort. To his forces joined famous collaborations as those of Clint Eastwood, protagonist of the honored film, directors like Álex de la Iglesia or Joe Dante, the composer Ennio Morricone or the very same James Hetfield, leader of the Metallica group.

'Unearthing Sad Hill' will come to our cinemas next October 19 at the hand of #CounPack distribution. Before, on May 25, an advance will be presented at the Cannes Festival, which will be attended by the director.

The poster we present, with Lee Van Cleef as the protagonist, is the work of Iñaki Villuendas, author of posters for films such as 'Verónica', 'Enemy', 'Colossal', 'Oro' or 'Tarde para ira'.
