In “Day of Anger” (1967) starring Lee Van Cleef and
Giuliano Gemma there is mention of a gun owned by Doc Holliday that Scott uses
to defeat Frank Talby in their final gunfight. There is also mention of another
famous Wild West outlaw Butch Cassidy where a sign reads "On July 12,
1882, Butch Cassidy was mortally wounded by Dan Parker." Erroneously
Cassidy wasn’t (supposedly) killed until 26 years later in Bolivia. Also, the
Dan Parker mentioned on the sign was actually the name of Butch Cassidy’s
(Robert Leroy Parker) brother.
The pistol that Murph Allen Short talked about in "Day Of Anger" that belonged to Doc Holliday had missing sights and, as Scott Mary would later say, was "calibrated perfectly". What was the secret behind all that? Doc sawed off the barrel just like Lee Van Cleef did with HIS gun in the same film.
