Little Known Spaghetti Western Actors ~ Franco Antonelli

[These daily posts will cover little known actors or people that have appeared in more recent films and TV series. Various degrees of information that I was able to find will be given and anything that you can add would be appreciated.]

Franco Antonelli is/was an Italian costumer and wardrobe supervisor but was credited as an actor in “California” starring Guliano Gemma. His career began in 1962 with his participation as a costume designer on “Black Invaders” with Amedeo Nazzari and his last credit was as a wardrobe coordinator on 1987’s “The Last Emperor” with Peter O’Toole. Antonelli also worked on “Flash Gordon” in 1980, “Conan the Barbarian” 1982 and “Red Sonja” in 1985.

  1. Franco Antonelli might be related to both Roberto and Mathilde Antonelli. I'm assuming he was born in 1907 in Campobasso, Italy, and died in 1988 in Rome. He was either their father or their uncle and started his career as a costume designer at the age of 55. What I DO know is that there was also a man named Marco Antonelli who was listed as a weapons master in the 1967 Spaghetti Western, "Cjamango" starring Sean Todd. If that's the case, then he IS related to all three of them. That should do it. Oh, and don't be afraid to correct me if I'm wrong. I hope I helped in some way. Until then, thanks.
