Little Known European Spaghetti Western Actors ~ Olavi Ahonen

 These daily posts will cover little known actors or people that have appeared in more recent films and TV series. Various degrees of information that I was able to find will be gven and anything that you can add would be appreciated.

 

Kauko Olavi Ahonen was born in Jyväskylän mlk., Finland on July 21, 1923. Ahonen finished school at the age of 16 and began his studies at Vyborg and Lahti music colleges (now the Lahti Conservatory). He became a prominent film actor, whose career progressed slowly, however, because he lived and worked in Tampere in the 1950s. Ahonen rose to public awareness with the role of Riitaoja in the film “Untumeton solitas”.

Ahonen appeared in a total of 65 films, television series and TV movies.

He married actress Rauni Ikäheimo [1924-1997] in 1951. After the death of her elder brother, she was a widow for three years. Olavi Ahonen died of cancer at the age of 77 on September 1, 2000 in Helsinki

 He was a Finnish film actor who first appeared on film in 1954 and made many appearances in Finnish film between then and 1997. He also appeared in many films by Spede Pasanen. From 1990 he only appeared on TV in Finland until his retirement in 1997. He died in 2000.
