[These daily posts will cover little known actors or people that have appeared in more recent films and TV series. Various degrees of information that I was able to find will be given and anything that you can add would be appreciated.]
Gloria Cámara was born in Vigo, Pontevedra, Galicia, Spain on April 2, 1939. After studying commercial expertise, her professional activity began in front of the cameras on Spanish Television, with Fernando García de la Vega in the musical program ‘Escala en hi-fi’, in 1964 and 1965. The popularity she achieved allowed her to participate in other programs such as ‘La tortuga perezosa’ (1964), ‘Escuela de maridos’ (1964 with Elvira Quintillá) and ‘Cinco a la mesa’ (1965).
Her career as an actress was always mostly as a TV actress, having the opportunity to participate in televised theater spaces included in Primera fila, ‘Estudio 1, Novela, Teledomingo’ (1963), ‘Tragedias de la vida vulgar’ (Tragedies of Vulgar Life) (1964), ‘Tiempo y hora’ (Time and Hour) (1966) or ‘Del dicho al hecho’ (From Saying to Fact) (1971).
Her work on television allowed her to make the leap to cinema; her career on the big screen, however, did not quite take hold and her discreet filmography does not include more than a dozen titles, including “Megaton Ye-Ye” (1966) with Mochi, “El primer cuartel” (1966), “Soltera y madre en la vida” (1969), by Javier Aguirre, with Lina Morgan and “La Lola, dicen que no vive sola” (1970), by Jaime de Armiñán.
For years, she has had her own training center where she taught dubbing and voice-over. She was the regular voice for actresses Jacqueline Bisset, Cybill Shepherd, Patricia Wettig, Debra Winger, Demie Moore, Julianne Moore, Julia Roberts, Susan Sarandon, Connie Selleca, Lolita Davidovich, Pauline Collins, Rita Hayworth, Jane Krakowski, Jessica Lange, Leslie Easterbook, Barbara Goodson and Kate MacNeil, among others.
In 1981 she had a daughter named Paula Cristina.
