From Friday 2 to Camerata Nuova, star of western cinema between presentations and shows

The young woman, who has already participated in several films that want to relaunch the western genre, attended the recent Western Film Festival in Camerata Nuova. Its presence since last year has been a constant that confirms a trend that is growing and consolidating in the places that have been the magical sets of countless films: the Camposecco plateau. The location, immortalized by over 60 films that have marked the history of Spaghetti westerns and the dear old west, experienced a second youth thanks to the event that transformed the small village of Camerata Nuova, on the border between Lazio and Abruzzo, into the most cinematic western village there is.
Monolite News participated in the event dedicated to the seventh art already last summer, telling the vast participation of the public who came even from considerable distances to dive into the western magic recreated with passion in the center of Camerata.
The initiative gave a truly unforgettable weekend to all fans of Bud Spencer and Terence Hill's films and also to all those who viscerally love Sergio Leone's epic films such as "Once Upon a Time in the West".
But the cult films, from black and white to more recent masterpieces such as Quentin Tarantino's "Django", are many. It is impossible to mention all the films that celebrate a glorious past evoked with images of horses, sheriffs and outlaws, boots, forts, ranches, prisons, skirts and saloon music. But if naming them all is a feat, it is certainly a dream come true to go to Camerata Nuova to immerse yourself in a fairytale place populated by some of the stars who, in front of or behind the camera, participated in the golden age of the western.
The thematic festival was organized by the Pro Loco of Camerata Nuova, led by President Francesco Fulgenzi, with the patronage of the Municipality of Camerata, administered by Mayor Settimio Liberati.
The weekend with free admission offered in the town square, interviews, meet and greet with guests, unpublished films, music, events on cinema and comics, equestrian shows (two performances at the Camerata Nuova Sports Field), country dances, fistfights and the inevitable beans as well as food and wine stands.
During the festival we were offered an interview with Lady Trinità Days, aka Yassmin Pucci, who made no secret of how much she herself was really very excited about her "return to the scene of the crime" where the most beautiful journey into the past of summer 2023 was created: in Camerata Nuova, shared by thousands of visitors who crowded the event in even greater numbers with friends and relatives.
Yassmin Pucci, actress and performer also in the role of presenter of the Trinità Days event, can you tell readers what this three-day event meant to you?
The western world entered my veins in 2016 when Emiliano Ferrera chose me as the protagonist of his film “Gold & Lead” (The Dutchman). From that day it has been a succession of acquaintances of passionate people and lovers of the genre who have opened up a world to me about weapons, horses, costumes, fights, the various stories and anecdotes of films from Corbucci to Sergio Leone to whom we have dedicated our film.
Trinità Days was a wonderful way to bring together western lovers with all the other people who want to have fun in a genuine, simple but above all unconventional way.
We had the pleasure of sharing it with the public for three days thanks to the proloco of Camerata Nuova, the mayor and the many people who live there and who always remember with great enthusiasm the films shot in their area, films that have made history, just like Trinity.
After last year's debut, what emotions ran through you before the latest edition at Camerata Nuova?
I'm always excited when I have to present some festival or event. You never get used to it, you never know what kind of audience you will find yourself in front of, whether participating or not. With some people it is more difficult but I realized that during Trinity Days people can be shy only the first moments, because it takes very little then to involve them in dances, absolutely innocent fights and piloted by our stunt coordinator Tiziano Carnevale, in absolute safety in short... but not only that, the Trinità Days audience is always very involved and unleashed and I couldn’t wait to get involved again.
Apart from the section dedicated to guests, I don't have a real lineup, I will let myself be guided by my instinct and my feelings, trying to involve the audience as much as possible.
You have starred in two western works signed by Emiliano Ferrera who also participated in Trinità Days: can you tell our readers something about your work, how you approached western roles, and something about the experience you have had so far?
As I mentioned at the beginning, working in a western film is totally different from making other types of films. Especially in our case, Italian independent cinema does not have all the comforts of conventional cinema. We had no dressing rooms after resting or catching our breath, we didn't have a costume shop to change into, we built everything ourselves, with a lot of passion and excellent knowledge of the sector.
I never sighed, I never complained exactly like everyone else on the team, every time we face a new adventure together whether it is a film, a short, a video clip or an event we are always ready to get our hands dirty and roll up our sleeves.
The three days were distributed in such a way as to never bore the public even those who stayed in our company all weekend. We expanded the immersive activities this year, in addition to a magnificent equestrian show people totally immersed themselves in a western adventure by participating in a role-playing game specially created for this event thanks to the Spaghetti Larp association.
Trinità Days celebrates western passion on many levels: you can tell us your point of view.
What can I say, I think I was very sincere in saying
before, that the western world is a world of its own. There are no comparable
things, you either love the western world or hate it. No middle ground. But...
these activities, these events such as Trinity Days, are bringing the Wild West
home to everyone, especially the youngest are rediscovering a world that had
been somewhat buried in recent years, a world that our grandparents know well.
It was a huge shame to bury all these wonderful stories, legends, and duels for
a while....it was time to start again.
An important project, presented by the Pro Loco of Camerata Nuova, led by President Francesco Fulgenzi, with the double artistic direction of Tiziano Carnevale and Marcello Vicinie, the result of the synergy of many realities: Yassmin, what do you feel like saying about this initiative?
The Trinità Days initiative was strongly desired by my friend, colleague and partner Tiziano Carnevale, when a few years ago thanks to Vincenzo Pelosi, another progenitor of Camerata Nuova who has been fighting for years to make a territory that shone so much in the 1970s shine again, when they met they were explosive.
They involved the Pro Loco and the Mayor who with great enthusiasm and organizational skills decided to try all together. Last year's data and the fact that this is the second consecutive year says a lot about how the first experience went. We are all very satisfied and we count on improving more and more.
This year Marcello Vicini also joined, a great fan but not only, with his book dedicated to all those who have made the history of the western he contributed by bringing an even wider parterre among the guests of this year, we will hear from some of the protagonists of the genre many stories, I would never stop listening to them.
Yassmin, would you like to add something?
I would like to add that the community of Camerata Nuova together with the Pro Loco, Vincenzo Pelosi and the Mayor Settimio Liberati, have also contributed to the filming of a new western of which I signed the screenplay directed by Donatella Corrado, entitled “Four Sisters”, soon to be visible on platforms both in Italy and abroad.
An independent film that made use of an exceptional cast
with people from all over Italy, and a technical cast led by a great director
of photography like Gino Sgreva. A wonderful experience, which I piloted with
love and pride with the support of many people who believed in the project and
with the fundamental support of Mario Niccolò Messina, a Roman entrepreneur now
transplanted to Los Angeles at the head of V Channels. A man at the forefront,
always ready to get involved and give opportunities to those who, I hope, like
us, will not disappoint expectations.
