Little Known Spaghetti Western Actors ~ Eddie Campbell

[These daily posts will cover little known actors or people that have appeared in more recent films and TV series. Various degrees of information that I was able to find will be given and anything that you can add would be appreciated.]

Eddie Campbell was born in Edinburgh, Scotland in 1949. He emigrated to the United States and became a hospital porter and barman, before training as a marine back in the United Kingdom. In 1982, after nine years in the military, he moved to New Zealand and threw himself into acting, touring plays nationwide and learning his craft. Adept at 'hard man' roles, his TV credits include cop shows ‘Inside Straight’ and ‘Shark in the Park’. He was strip club owner Vince Cleaver in ‘The Strip’, featured in fantasy ‘Mirror Mirror’ and worked for Jane Campion on ‘The Piano’ and ‘Top of the Lake’. His movie roles included “King Kong”. Campbell died in New Zealand on October 16, 2020, at the age of 71.

Campbell appeared in two Euro-westerns late in his career. He was Skelly in 1024’s “Slow West” and as Stan in “The Power of the Dog” in 2019.
