Who Are Those Guys? - Giorgio Bixio



Giorgio Bixio was born Lazaro Angelo Bisio in Genoa, Liguria, Italy on August 2, 1912. His first experience as an actor was as an amateur on the stage of Santa Maria di Castella in his hometown. He then made professional performances in several revue theaters, from 1944 he was under contract with with Gilberto Govis. In 1960 he played in the self-penned “Chiamate Giorgio 666” and in 1961, with his theater acting troops "Compagnia Gagliardi". Bixio had a special talent for the musical comedy, which he put to good use with the team Garinei and Giovannini at Promesse alongside Johnny Dorelli, Catherine Spaak and again provide proof in the early 1970s inDecamerone” alongside Sylva Koscina. Between 1973 and 1976 he worked in the dialect theater next to Carlo Dapporto, Anna Caroli and Titti Benvenuto, with whom he carried the heritage Erbe Govis throughout the main cities of Italy. The play “Anche le figlie di Maria portano i jeans” in which he was cast alongside Erminio Macario, was his last stage appearance
 
Bixio rarely appeared in films, and his few appearances were as a character actor as in his only Euro-western “Shanghai Joe” (1973). He was married twice; Ida Bartoletti (1940-19??) and with the dancer Luisa Amorosi. He is the father of musician Riziero Bixio. [1962- ].
 
He died on September 25, 1984 in Rome, Lazio, Italy.
