Walter
Annichiarico was born on March 2, 1924 in Verona, Veneto, Italy. Chiari began
acting as a stage actor in Milan, Italy in 1944. He became one of Italy’s most
original performers in the 1950s. He appeared in such films as “Gildo” (1950), “Sogno
di un Walter” (1951) “Un mandarino per Teo” (1963). He then turned to comedy in
such films as “Una strana coppia” (1966), “L'inafferrabile 12” (1950), “Bellissima”
(1952), “Io, io, io... e gli altri” (1965).
Chiari
appeared in five Euro-westerns: “The Dream of Zorro” (1951),”A Dollar of Fear”
(1960), “The Magnificent Three” (1961), “The Terrible Sheriff” (1962) and “Heroes
of the West” (1963). Walter
then turned to television where again he became a successful comedian. Chiari
died of a heart attack in Milan, Lombardy, Italy on December 20, 1991. Today
we remember Walter Chiari on what would have been his 90th birthday.
