Adriano Bellini was born on August 26, 1942 in Vergine,
Veneto, Italy. He originally worked as a gondolier in the 1950s before moving
to Rome during the peplum genre explosion. Here he worked at Cinecittà studios,
and thanks to his imposing physique of a bodybuilder he was offered to
participate in the sword and sandal craze, of which the protagonists are always
characters with large muscle mass. Between 1960 and 1965 as Kirk Morris, he
took part in a dozen of these films playing the roles of such strongmen as
Maciste, Hercules and Samson. In the second half of the sixties, with the rapid
decline of this kind of film his career as a film actor proceeded with ups and
downs until the early seventies, when he dedicated his acting talents to the
world of TV soap operas. Morris appeared in two Euro-westerns: “Little Rita of
the West” (1967) and “Saguaro” (1971). Today we celebrate Kirk Morris’ 70th
birthday.
