RIP Horst Sachtleben


 
As Bishop Rossbauer, Horst Sachtleben was an integral part of the ARD series "Um Himmels Willen". His career took him from the theater stage in front of the camera to behind the microphone - as a voice for others. The actor died in Munich, Germany on May 24, 2022 at the age of 91. Born in Berlin on September 24, 1930. In addition to his role as Bishop Rossbauer, Sachtleben was also involved with guest appearances in other TV productions. For example, he was seen in "Tatort" and in the series "Der Alte" and "Der Kommissar". The actor's voice went on to have an international career - as a dubbing actor, Sachtleben lent it to Peter Falk as investigating Inspector Columbo and to Jim Broadbent in the role of Professor Horace Slughorn in "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince". Sachtleben also was the voice behind Niles, the butler in the sitcom "The Nanny". Horst was the German voice on several Euro-westerns such as: “Massacre at Marble City: (1964); Black Eagle of Santa Fe (1965) [German voice of Lorenzo Robledo]; “30 Winchesters for El Diablo” (1965) [German voice of Antonio Garisa]; “Sugar Colt” (1966) [German voice of Al Thomas]; “A Stranger in Paso Bravo” (1968) [German voice of Ignazio Leone]; “A Rope for a Bastard” (1968) [German voice of Renato Lupi]; “The Price of Death” (1971) [German voice of Franco Abbina] and ‘My Friend Winnetou’ (TV) 1979 [German voice of Jean-Claude Deret].
