Carlo Taranto was born on October 28, 1921 in Naples, Italy. He was the younger brother of actor, comedian and singer Nino Taranto [1907-1986]. Through his brother's influence he first appeared on screen in 1949's "I pompieri di Viggiù". He would go on to appear in over 100 films with such well known Italians as Toto, Vittorio De Sica, Franco Franchi, Ciccio Ingrassia and Alberto Sordi. Taranto usually played supporting and character roles in comedies and musicals. He was also active in theatrical productions and television roles. Carlo appeared in one Euro-western "The Nephew of Zorro" (1968). He passed away on April 4, 1986 in Naples from a hemorrhage. Today we remember Carlo Taranto on what would have been his 90th birthday.
