Remembering Ángel Álvarez
Ángel Álvarez Fernández was born on September 26, 1906 in Madrid, Spain. A prolific character actor who appeared in over 200 films and television appearances. Ángel made his screen debut in 1945's "Cinco lobitos" and continued appearing in films until his final appearance in 1982's "National III". The short, plump actor and sometimes screenwriter appeared in 15 Euro-westerns beginning with "The Coyote" in 1954 and ending with "Yankee Dudler" in 1973. He’s probably best remembered as Nathaniel the saloon owner in "Django" (1965) and as bank owner Oliver Blackwood in "Navajo Joe" (1966). Today we remember Ángel Álvarez on what would have been his 105th birthday.
