We continue our search for “Return of the Seven” film
locations. The group finally reaches the village where they find it deserted
and one of the village men hanging from an archway of one of the buildings.
The location of the village is called Agost. Even though
the landscape is desolate and a perfect place to film westerns only “The Return
of the Seven” has been filmed in the area. The village location is now gone
replaced by a brick and tile factory which has even removed several of the
surrounding hills which were seen in the film. These hillsides were used by the
plant in the manufacturing of the tiles and bricks.

highly recommended.]
Very interesting , I live in Agost, its a shame that the set is all gone now, but it is truly like the wild west here !
ReplyDeleteHope some tourism can be generated by this now almost forgotten set
I've been to Spain twice. The problem I see is the people who run Mini Hollywood now called Parque Oasys and Rancho Leone attempt to advertise them as locations for American Westerns. They play American western scores and pretend American films were made there. Spain has its own history of making westerns and should take pride in the fact that the films made there have international recognition and admiration. Take pride in the films made there and don't try and link them to there Amercan cousins.
