Who Are Those Guys? - Daniel Beretta




Daniel Beretta was born on December 24, 1946 in Audincourt, Doubs, Franche Comté, France. He learned music theory and piano at the age of 3 years-old. At age 13 he formed his first band ‘Ball’. He took acting classes at Montbéliard. That was followed by three years of diligent studies at the Petit Conservatoire de la Chanson (1964-1966). There he met Richard de Bordeaux, and the duo became an act in cabarets, records, television, concerts, 2 "Olympia", tours, etc.

In 1966, he appearaed in his first play “Copain Clopants” for which he remained in for over a year. Catherine Allégret who was on stage presented him to Marcel Camus who hired him for the leading role in his film “Un Été sauvage” (1968). It was then that he worked in theater, cinema and song in among others: “Jesus Christ Superstar”, “The Umbrellas of Cherbourg” and even a journal “Pont d'Orly”. Beretta appeared in his only Euro-western in 1967 as Hawk Bradford in “Dust in the Sun”.

Paul McCartney wrote him a song that he recorded “My Love” with Ennio Morricone in 1973 and another in 1974 “A Friend”. Mireille, who he sees regularly, he wrote for her "Juliet to Life." He continued to compose other songs for friends, Nino Ferrer, The Parisian, Jean-Noël Dupré, Mireille Mathieu ... in 1988 and received the Palme d'Or at the Festival d'Antibes for Best Film Music. He also composed for theater, and abroad, he played a part in Germany and three in Brussels (at the theater of the Spirit Rapper at Botany, and theater Ambly). He lent his voice to Arnold Schwarzenegger in all of his films since 1987, including his own appearances as a guest star. Recurring interpretation of Schwarzenegger has naturally brought the parody role of: Duke Nukem.

Daniel Beretta currently lends his voice to trailers and programs on the French Sci-Fi Channel. He is also the voice of Sam Fisher, the main character of the game Splinter Cell, the voice of Batou, one of the central figures in the world of Ghost in the Shell (two films, two series, one FVO) and commentary in wildlife documentaries. Between 2000 and 2008, he was the voice of radio RFM.
