Happy 70th Birthday Gabriella Giorgelli

Gabriella Giorgelli was born on July 29, 1941 in Carrara, Tuscany, Italy. She was working as a clerk, typist and secretary when she entered and was among the finalists on the 1961 Miss Italy contest. The strong willed and ambitious Gabriella was able to promote herself in magazines especially the Sadistik photo novels and was offered several film appearances and then as an actress appearing as Teresa in 1962's "Arturo’s Island" directed by Damiano Damiani. This was followed by the role of the raw and violent Esperia, partner of a thief and pimp in "The Grim Reaper" (1962) directed by Bernardo Bertolucci. In the later ‘60s her roles were limited to secondary films, mostly comedies, thrillers and westerns. Giorgelli did appear in some top rate films though such as "Voyou - The Rogue" (1970) directed by Claude Lelouch, "City of Women" (1980) by Fellini and "Romance" (1986) directed by F. Maselli. Gabriella continued her long career appearing in TV films and mini-series. Her last known appearance was in the 1999 TV mini-series "Anni ‘60". Her roles were mainly secondary and supporting roles. She appeared in eight Euro-westerns including: "A Stranger in Sacramento" (1965) with Mickey Hargitay, "The Long Days of Vengeance" (1967) with Giuliano Gemma, "The Beast" (1970) with Klaus Kinski, "They Call Me Providence" (1972) with Tomas Milian and "Those Dirty Dogs" with Gianni Garko and Stephen Boyd.
