Anthony M. Ray, 80, actor, producer and teacher died
peacefully after a long illness on June 29, 2018, in Saco, Maine. Born in
Washington, D.C., November 24, 1937 to film noir director Nicholas Ray and
writer Jean Evans, Tony grew up in New York City. In the city, he attended New
York University and the New School for Social Research. Tony's first love was
always acting; through his parents he had lived close to many of the big names of
old Hollywood. He was a graduate of the Neighborhood Playhouse and a member of
the Actor's Studio. A creative mind, Tony followed in his father's footsteps by
fashioning a distinguished career in theater, television and film. He was an
actor and a producer. Ray was an assistant director on the 1971 Euro-western “Valdez
is Coming!”
