Philippe
March was born Aimé de March on December 11, 1924 in Fresnes en Woevre, Meuse,
France. March was a supporting actor in French films, his roles were usually
discreet men, sensitive and helpful. He began in the cinema in the 1958 film “Julie
la Rousse”. He continued his acting career as Aimé de March until 1969, then it
appeared under the name Philippe March. He was then seen in: “Le president”, “Horace 62”, “Les trois mousquetaires”,
“The Devil and “The 10 Commandments”, “Le doulos”, “Les Pieds-Nickelés”, “Paris
brûle-t-il” and “La peau de torpedo”. His last film appearance was in 1980s “C'est
encore loin l'Amérique ?”
March
appeared in only one Euro-western: “The Cold Killer” 1966 in the role of Jose
Desmont.
Philippe died
of a brain tumor on July 12, 1980 in Paris, France.
Today we
remember Philippe March on what would have been his 90th birthday.
