Umberto
Spadaro was born on November 11, 1904 in Ancona, Marche, Italy. Umberto
followed in his father's footsteps, who acted in the company of Giovanni
Grasso. It is said that he made his stage debut when he was just six days old
in the arms of Angelo Musco. His passion was the theater although he also
appeared in over one hundred films. Professionally, he worked often with Turi
Ferro which promoted the creation of Teatro Stabile di Catania. Today the
acting school of Stable is named after him. He was brother of actor Peppino
Spadaro [1898-1950] and actress Grazia Spadaro.
Umberto
appeared in two Euro-westerns “A Fistful of Dollars” and “Lost Treasure of the
Aztecs” (both 1964).
Spadaro died
of cancer in Rome, Italy on October 12, 1981.
Today we
remember Umberto Spadaro on what would have been his 110th birthday.
