Giancarlo Ferrando was born on November 11, 1939 in Rome,
Lazio, Italy. Ferrando has had a contact with the film business since he was a
child; he had a role in in Alessandro Blasettis 1948 film “Altri tempi”. In the
late 1950s he began working as a camera assistant of Augusto Tiezzi working on
feature films. From 1971 Ferrando was a cinematographer in numerous films,
often for the productions of Luciano Martino and is still in demand. Giancarlo
has worked in about 110 films mainly as a cameraman. In 1994 he directed under
the pseudonym Maurizio Vanni “La ragazza di Cortina”.
Ferrando was the cinematographer on three Euro-westerns
“The Buzzards and Crows, Will Dig Your Grave” (1971), “God in Heaven, Arizona
on Earth” (1972) and “Dallas” (1974).
Since the 1990s, Ferrando turned to television.
