Jörg-Detlef
Panknin was born on November 8, 1944 in Regenwalde, Pomerania, Germany. After
his acting studies at the Higher School of Theatre Leipzig he followed his
commitment to be an actor working as a part of National Theatre Weimar and on
various stages in Berlin, Zurich and at the Forum Stadtpark in Graz. In
addition to his theater work Panknin debuted in 1968 in the GDR television film
‘Faust’, followed by numerous film and television services for the DEFA and the
GDR television. Jörg continued his career as an actor, working in the 1990s in
television series such as ‘Police 110’ (1975-2005) and ‘SOKO Leipzig’
(2004-2013).
Panknin appeared in two Euro-westerns “Blood Brothers” (1975) as Joe and “The Long Ride to School” (1981).
