Happy 70th Birthday Hans Gudegast
örg Gudegast was born on April 3, 1941 in Bredenbek, Germany. His father was once the mayor of Bredenbek and after high school he emigrated to the United States where he attended the University of Montana. During this time he appeared on many TV series during the 1950s and 1960s. He appeared as German Captain Hans Dietrich on the popular "Rat Patrol" TV series from 1966-1968. In 1970 he appeared in "Colossus: The Forbidden Projet" under the stage name of Eric Braeden which was followed by a supporting role in "Escape from the Planet of the Apes" (1971). He continued his acting career as Braeden with several TV appearances and in 1980 was offered the role of Victor Neman on the soap opera "The Young and the Restless" where he won an Emmy for his role in 1998. In 1997 he played the role of Colonel John Jacob Astor IV in "Titanic". Hans appeared in one Euro-western "100 Rifles" (1969) as Lt. FranzVon Klemme starring Raquel Welch, Jim Brown and Burt Reynolds. Today we celebrate Hans Gudegast’s (aka Eric Braeden) 70th birthday.
