Laredo Morning Times

August 29, 1965

Guy Madison portrays the role of Wyatt Earp, the star of “Gunmen of the Rio Grande,” the new Allied Artists release produced by Ike Zingermann in Eastmancolor and Technicscope and scheduled to open Thursday at the Bordertown Theatre along with Elvis Presley in “Tickle Me.”

The film which, has a south-of-the-border locale, relates the story of a French saloon owner, Jennie Lee (Madeleine Le Beau) who hires a ‘new’ gun in the form of Wyatt Earp (Guy Madison) to fight off the unscrupulous Zack Williams (Massimo Serato) who has successfully acquired all the silver mines in the territory except Jennie Lee’s.

Madison’s job presents a two-fold danger, with Williams on one side and a Mexican bandit chief on the other.

How he outguns and outmaneuvers both of them in a series of lustry battles, is the plot of the film.
