Sointu Angervo is a Finnish actress known for her roles in 1960s Finnish cinema, particularly in films such as “Yksityisalue” (1962), “Tähdet kertovat, komisario Palmu” (1962), and “Rakas...” (1961). Angervo is the daughter of meteorologist and composer Juho Angervo [1904–1965] and Emilie Elisabeth Hannula. She has a brother, Ari Angervo, who is a violinist and conductor.
Born on April 19, 1941, in Helsinki, Angervo emerged in the early 1960s and appeared in several notable productions, including multiple collaborations with director Maunu Kurkvaara on films like “Rakas..., Yksityisalue” (1962), and “Miljoonaliiga” (1968). Her work also extended to titles by other prominent Finnish directors, such as Matti Kassila's “Tähdet kertovat, komisario Palmu” and Mikko Niskanen's “Asphalt Lamps” (1968), contributing to the era's distinctive Finnish film landscape.
Beyond feature films, Angervo has credits in television, including appearances in series like “Tarkkis” (1987) and “Nortia” (1996), reflecting a career spanning several decades in Finnish audiovisual media.
She continued her professional career in theater after 1996, including serving as director and manager of Musiikkiteatteri Musti from 1997 to 2007 and receiving a state artist pension in 2013.
Sointu Angervo appeared in one Euro-western, “Speedy Gonzales, noin 7 veljeksen poika” (Speedy Gonzales) as a saloon girl in 1970.
