Ilija Dzuvalekovski was born in Prilep, Macedonia on December 20, 1915. He was a film, theater and television actor. Before World War II he studied at the Academy of Music in Belgrade. In 1944 he went to Vis where he appeared at the Theater of National Liberation managed by V. Afric. Soon after that he went to Moscow where he became a member of the Editorial Board of the “Free Yugoslavia” Radio Station. In 1945 he returned in Macedonia and chose his career as an actor. He had made his first successful achievements in the Macedonian National Theater in Skopje. In 1964 he went to Zagreb acting in the Croatian National Theater, while from 1967 he was the head of the Acting Department in Macedonian Language at the Academy for Theater, Film and Television. In 1972 he returned to Skopje and continued his pedagogic work at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts continuing his acting career at the same time. He Appeared in his first film role in the feature “Frosina”. Dzuvalekovski’s contribution as a film actor is not less important than that of his theater’s. In his career as an actor, he appeared in over 60 roles expressing his acting individuality.
