José Guardiola Díaz de Rada was born in Barcelona, Spain on October 22, 1930. From a humble family, José Guardiola spent his childhood in Barcelona with his brothers Julio and sister María Guardiola Díaz de Rada, and his parents. The musical vocation in the family was very marked. José at an early age crossed his path with that of a priest, who seeing his talent "sponsored" him and helped him start his career as a singer. José was not the only artist in the family. While he played the violin, his brother Julio learned to play the trumpet and his sister Maria the piano. 1. Tom, I think you meant to say that Jose Guardiola was 72 years old when he died in April of 2012. Since he was born in October of 1939, that would mean that he was not yet 73. If he were still 82 in April of 2012, then that would mean he was born in October of 1929. I just thought I'd let you know that. Not saying your math is off but you were still so close. No hard feelings.

  2. Sorry you are confusing the actor born in 1921 and died in 1988 with the singer I posted. Every source I can find on the singer gives the dates of birth and death the same as I posted meaning he was 81 when he died.
