Arlette Balkis was born Arlette Louise Bloch in Paris, France on October 1, 1910. She also toured under the name Arlette Redon in her early days. Arlette began her film career in 1933 in the film “Quatorze juillet” directed by René Clair. She went on to appear in over 50 films and television performances as well as acting in the theater occasionally. Her last appearance was in the 1997 film “I Stand Alone” directed by Gaspar Noé.
Arlette died in Paris on May 31, 1997. She was 86 years old.
