Little Known Spaghetti Western Actors ~ Sorin Balaban

[These daily posts will cover little known actors or people that have appeared in more recent films and TV series. Various degrees of information that I was able to find will be given and anything that you can add would be appreciated.]

Sorin Balaban was born in Bucharest, Romania on March 29, 1930. He graduated from the  the Institute of Theatrical Arts and Cinematography. In 1955 he appeared in his first film “Directorul nostrum”. He appeared in another seven films until 1982. His only Euro-western was as Mr. Brown in 1978’s “The Actress, the Dollars and the Transylvanians”.

After his last film appearance in 1982 he disappears from the scene, and I can find no further information about him.

  1. He looks like Grizzly Adams in that picture. As for what you said about him disappearing from the acting industry in 1982, there's a pretty good chance that he either retired or died. But until I can verify that claim we won't know for sure. Good luck to anyone who has more information.

  2. He was my mom’s half brother. He died from diabetes according to her at age 62. His father Stefan Balaban was a cavalry general in the army educated in France at the military academy Saint Cyr. He remarried and had 10 additional children. My mom is the oldest born in 1939.
