Born Maria Cristina Brancucci on April 20, 1940, in Rome the daughter of composer Italo Brancucci [1904-1958] and the sister of voice actor Ermavilo (Franco Brancucci) [1947-2021]. She began her singing career in the early 1960s working with Alessandro Alessandroni’s “I Cantori Moderni’ on film scores by such composers as Ennio Morricone and Luis Bacalov”. She then started a solo career using the stage name ‘Christy’ recording for the Parade label. She also works as a dubbing and voice actor.
She’s best remembered by Spaghetti western fans for her soundtrack songs “Somewhere” and “Run Man Run” from 1966’s “The Big Gundown and “Al Messico che Vorrei” from 1969’s “Tepepa” (aka Blood and Guns).
She was the aunt of songwriter, singer Lorena Brancucci [1977- ].
Christy died this past year on January 11, 2022. She was 82.
