Happy 85th Birthday Alberto De Martino

Alberto Martino De Martino was born on June 12, 1929 in Rome, Italy. He was an assistant director, director, writer and producer who was responsible for directing 28 films during his career from 1961-1985. He also wrote the screenplay for 24 films. Martino often directed various sword n' sandal, spy, war, crime and action thrillers and five Euro-westerns including “Django Shoots First” (1966) and “Another Try, Eh Providence?”. He is perhaps best known for directing the 1972 Tella Savalas crime drama “Crime Boss” and the 1977 Kirk Douglas disaster film “Holocaust 2000”. Alberto was an assistant director on Sergio Leone’s “Duck You Sucker” (1971).
