Torsten Michaelis died on August 17th in Berlin, Germany, he was
64. Michaelis on January 31 January 1961 in East Berlin. The brother of
composer Dirk Michaelis [1961- ] and the stepson of musician Gerhard Michaelis
[1933-2022]. Torsten was a German theater actor, voice actor, radio play
narrator and audio book interpreter. His voice is best known for numerous
dubbing performances by Wesley Snipes, Martin Lawrence, Sean Bean, Benicio del
Toro and Chris Tucker. Michaelis dubbed the German of several actors for
Euro-westerns including: ‘The New Zorro’ (TV) (1990-1993) [German voice of
Peter Birch], “Posse” (1993) [German voice of Mario Van Peebles], ‘White Fang’
(TV) (1993-1995) [German voice of Roy Murdoch], “Gallowwalkers” (2012) [German
voice of Wesley Snipes] and “Dead in Tombstone” (2013) [German voice of Anthony
Michael Hall]
