Salvatore Basile Ferreira was born in Foggia, Apulia, Italy on May 18, 1940. He is an Italian all-rounder with Colombian roots. He is known for his extensive experience as an actor, producer and assistant director in film, theatre and television.
"From the moment he arrived, he showed the talent he inherited from his parents, as well as his talent as an excellent chef, actor, director, producer, announcer and music producer," wrote journalist Soledad Quintero in 2003 in the magazine TV y Novelas.
He has also been a member of the Board of Directors of the Cartagena Film and Television Festival for more than 20 years, of which he held the position of Vice President. He directs several festivals and film festivals, including the Salt Festival in Zipaquirá, the Coexistence Film Festival and the Sports Film Festival.
The artist is married to Jaqueline Lemaitre, whom he met while filming in Colombia.
Basile appeared in three Spaghetti westerns: “C’era un a volta il west” (Once Upon a Time in the West) in 1968 as one of Cheyenne’s henchmen, “Giu la testa (Duck You Sucker) in 1971 as a one of Santerna’s henchmen and as an army captain in “Occhio alla penna” (Buddy Goes West) in 1981 where he also performs stunts.
