60 years ago, Clint Eastwood's best western film was released.

An impeccable film that even surpasses 'Unforgiven'

The name Clint Eastwood will forever be associated with the western. It is true that he has tackled all kinds of genres, but his career took off thanks to the western films he starred in under the direction of Sergio Leone and then he himself would even direct such unforgettable titles as 'The Outlaw Josey Wales' and 'Unforgiven'. However, my personal favorite of his has always been 'For a Few Dollars More.'

Impeccable

In its own way, 'For a Few Dollars More' was an intermediate step between 'A Fistful of Dollars' - it even shares Gian Maria Volontè as the great villain of the show - and 'The Good, the Bad and the Ugly' with Leone applying what he had learned in the first, but without yet reaching the excess of ambition that, In my opinion, it creates small irregularities in the second. For me, here is the perfect balance point between fun and control of what you are doing to shape a model spaghetti western.

I imagine that there will be those who consider it little less than blasphemy to say that 'For a Few Dollars More' is Eastwood's best western, but for me it is a western that I find impossible to find any fault with. It is no longer only Leone's maturity behind the cameras or the undeniable charisma of his protagonist; it was also the emergence of Lee Van Cleef as a star of the genre after years being reduced to supporting roles.

Nor should we forget its extraordinary final duel or the always magnificent contribution of Ennio Morricone in the soundtrack. Everything just fits perfectly into an unforgettable movie.
