[These daily posts will cover little known actors or people that have appeared in more recent films and TV series. Various degrees of information that I was able to find will be given and anything that you can add would be appreciated.]
Born Joseph Honoré Davert he appeared in thirty-six films between 1918 and 1935 and is best remembered for his appearances in “La nouvelle aurore” (1919) “Face à la mort” (1925) and in “Construire un feu” (1930). He died in Paris on March 31, 1934, at the age of 59.
Very little biographical information is available on Davert.
The rough looking actor used the stage name José Davert and he appeared in only two Euro-westerns, both silent films, “La fille du lion” in 1923 as Joani Sampierri and as ‘The Man’ in 1929’s “Construire un feu” (The Origin of Fire).
