[These daily posts will cover little known actors or people that have appeared in more recent films and TV series. Various degrees of information that I was able to find will be given and anything that you can add would be appreciated.]
Jeremy Davies Boring was born in Saugus, California on October 8, 1969. He lived in Traverse City, Michigan in early childhood, and moved to Kansas with his mother after his parents' divorce. His mother contracted Lupus and died from complications. After his mother's death, in the mid 1970's, he went to live with his father, author Melvin Lyle "Mel" Boring and stepmother Carol Lynne Trettin, in Santa Barbara, California. They then moved to Rockford, Iowa in 1985 or 1986.
Davies was raised without television, and experienced a vividly nomadic (non-military brat), low-income childhood, growing up throughout the US and abroad, including Vermont, Seattle, Oregon, Kansas, Michigan, New Orleans, Latin America, Canada, Denmark, Sweden and the Kingdom of California.
Davies attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Pasadena, California class of 1990. He made his film debut starring in David O. Russell's acclaimed first film, the Indy classic, "Spanking the Monkey", which became a surprise Sundance Film Festival winner, earning Jeremy an Independent Spirit Award nomination for Best Debut Performance.
On television, Davies was invited to join the cast of JJ Abram's groundbreaking show, "Lost", and soon after, his character, 'Daniel Faraday', quickly became an integral part of the "Lost" mythology and a favorite of critics and fans (to the extent that ABC began selling Faraday bobbleheads).
After "Lost", Davies joined Timothy Olyphant, Walton Goggins and Margo Martindale on Graham Yost's acclaimed, Emmy winning FX show, ‘Justified’, based on a short story by the great Elmore Leonard. Wildly against his better judgment, Yost generously granted Jeremy unusual freedom to develop the character of Mags Bennett's middle son, and Davies' subsequent ferocious and fragile Richard the Third-esque portrayal of Harlan, Kentucky outlaw 'Dickie Bennett' was so far removed from 'Daniel Faraday', his work earned him an Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actor.
So far in his career Jeremy has appeared in 58 films between 1991 – 2025.
As of today, his only Euro-western appearance was in 1999’s “Ravenous” as Private Toffler.
